Muddling Through: Strings, Crumbs and Orphan Blocks
http://brunosmom.blogspot.com/2015/05/strings-crumbs-and-orphan-blocks.html
Thursday, May 21, 2015. Strings, Crumbs and Orphan Blocks. I could not stop playing until this became a quilt. It was just fun to keep adding until I ended up with something I like. Miss Ariel decided she needed to be in this picture. The backing fabric is a really nice flannel from Connecting Threads. Some of the block centers are orphan blocks and some are just pieces of fabrics I like. As I worked (played! These are some of the churn dash blocks Deb. I changed my mind. I had an idea that if I sash...

Muddling Through: October 2014
http://brunosmom.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 30, 2014. Progress and an Outing. There has been more progress on this quilt top. I think I'll call it Chicken Strips. What do you think? It makes me smile every time I see it. My friend Phyllis and I went to Quilt Festival today. We were privileged to visit for a few minutes with this very nice award winner, Sandi Snow from Lutz, Florida. (Don't you love that her t-shirt matches her quilt? She said that she used a rolling ruler to get those circles so perfect. This one is "Voldemort" b...

Muddling Through: I Am SO Bad Sometimes
http://brunosmom.blogspot.com/2015/05/i-am-so-bad-sometimes.html
Thursday, May 14, 2015. I Am SO Bad Sometimes. I did get this top all sewn together last night, and I pulled this fabric for a possible border, but that is where I went off track. I pulled out this project box with some free form block starts and lots of colorful scraps. And those blocks started growing. Next thing I knew, I had five more or less 10 inch blocks finished. It was just so much fun letting them grow as they pleased. I awoke to a sunny day and thanked God! Hugs and kisses,. Playing, without t...

Muddling Through: So I Had an Idea
http://brunosmom.blogspot.com/2015/04/so-i-had-idea.html
Thursday, April 23, 2015. So I Had an Idea. I had these blue-bordered sixteen patch blocks left over from this quilt. Yeah, sometimes I get carried away. Anyway, I did not have any more of this blue fabric, but I did have an idea. I also had lots of 2 1/2" strips in red and beige leftover from this quilt. It seemed to me a good idea to sew some of them together in segments. I've also done a lot more cutting of red, white and blue strips that will grow into more quilts. Hugs and kisses,. Muddling Through: January 2015
http://brunosmom.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 29, 2015. She had a bad cut to her abdomen which required internal and external stitches and lots of bruising and abrasions, but she is recovering nicely, for which we are extremely thankful. We've had such beautiful weather, the chickens have decided it is Spring and started laying again! This is yesterday's haul, which is not bad, considering that we only have three chickens and they are not young! I do love our chickens. I know. I'm weird that way. I like their tenacity. I am thankfu...

Muddling Through: September 2014
http://brunosmom.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 26, 2014. Last Friday in September. The vertical rows are all sewn together and now I need to join all of them and I'll be ready for borders. I've been pulling fabric candidates, but haven't made firm decisions yet. Another quilt trying to get out of my head and out into the world. I've been making four patches for a very long time as leader/enders. And then sewing four of them together to make 16-patches. You know. Hugs and kisses,. Links to this post. Muddling Through: Making Quilts to Donate
http://brunosmom.blogspot.com/2015/04/making-quilts-to-donate.html
Friday, April 3, 2015. Making Quilts to Donate. I know these are big, grown up men and women, but sometimes even tough guys like to remember sweeter things. I think we all tried to include things that might make someone smile. But mainly we want them to know that we value their service, that they have not been forgotten. Hopefully they will feel the love and the prayers that went into each of these quilts as they rest under them on their way from here to there. Hugs and kisses,. Friday, April 03, 2015.

Muddling Through: I Have an Excuse
http://brunosmom.blogspot.com/2015/05/i-have-excuse.html
Thursday, May 7, 2015. I Have an Excuse. On the plus side, I did get this one quilted. Here's the backing. It is really mostly a very dark navy blue. On the minus side, it still needs the binding put on it. It is trimmed and the binding is cut and ready to go. Very kindly sold me one that she had loved back to life. I am once again happy, happy, happy! I do love sewing on the 201's. They are just so smooth and dependable. Okay Here's my big excuse for being absent from my blog for so long. This is wh...
