This blog is a chronicle of my experiences in creating art with polymer clay and other media. Posted by: doras explorations. September 13, 2008. Cane of the Week, 9/13/08, Laundromat Inspired. In an earlier post. I described a floor tile pattern I discovered at my. Local laundromat. I thought the design would make a great cane, and took. A photograph of it for future reference. One of my readers mentioned that the pattern resembled a quilt block known as ‘Card Trick’. Which are larger in size and have a ...

Quilted in Clay Rambles: November 2007
http://polymerramble.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 29, 2007. I have been working on getting organized. Well a little bit organized anyway. I have this stack of drawers from a contact lens company that a friend. Gave me. It's full of beads. I also have a number of boxes, and some Plano. Tackle boxes, full of beads, jewelry findings and more! Actually I think they are Plano, I usually buy the less expensive ones at Cabela's. All these different storage units are a pain! Tackle boxes, my Rubbermaid. While browsing through the Rio Grande.

Quilted in Clay Rambles: January 2008
http://polymerramble.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 29, 2008. After a show there is always the catching up phase! First there is the 3' tall pile of mail to sort through. Most of it usually is junk, but of course there are goodies in it! The mail gets sorted, then it's time to do the receipts. Every receipt from the trip needs to get posted into my accounting software. Then I have to post my monies received, and then pay all the bills. This usually takes a day or two, depending on how long I was gone, and how fast I work! I am finally hom...

Quilted in Clay Rambles: February 2008
http://polymerramble.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 29, 2008. This is my most recent cane, a design based on the original designs of Ruby S Mckim. Ruby is one of the innovators in the Quilting world, in the 30’s she wrote patterns for the Kansas City star. I received permission from her family to reproduce some of her designs into jewelry. This is a pieced rose, but if you look at it, there are bear paws, and in the center is an Ohio star. Isn't it great! I love when designs do this, include secondary images within them! I did not have th...

Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Work in Progress Wednesday-#28. Written by Laura Chaney, daughter. Another week, another Wednesday, another chance to link up and see what all of our online quilty and crafty friends have been up to this last week! This week I've continued to make progress on my Grandmother Flower Garden, albeit a little slower than last week. (That's what happens when I don't have a three day weekend, I guess). I was apparently feeling blue this week (only in fabric, life is great). Series ...
