Charlene Marsh Oil Paintings: April 2014
http://charlenemarsh.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 17, 2014. I am back in the studio after attending the Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival in The Woodlands(Houston), Texas last weekend. What an adventure! Tulips in a Vase, c. 2014, 12" x 9", oil on panel, by Charlene Marsh, SOLD. But the scariest part of the trip was in the stretch between Houston and Texarkana on Highway 59 (a four lane road with 75 mph speed limits and driveways with direct access). I was in the northbound passing lane when a semi trailer came across the median, thro...

Sunday, May 25, 2014. We had a lot of excitement out here on Lanam Ridge Road today! Day Two of the Memorial Day Weekend Open House and Exhibition started with a large, oak tree out front collapsing at 8:00 am into the road bringing down power and phone lines and totally blocking the road and my neighbor's driveway. His wife had just left for church a minute before the tree fell! But I am here and ready for Day Three of the Open House and Exhibition tomorrow on Monday! Tree across Lanam Ridge Road. We ha...

Saturday, October 26, 2013. Charlene Marsh Studio/Gallery sign. Thanks to everyone who attended the October Open House last weekend! I was humbled and honored that people came from all over the region and as far away as the Saint Louis area to attend. I have had additional visitors this month who called and came out at their convenience at other times which is just great. I love visitors to the Studio/Gallery! I was on the Brown County Back Roads Studio Tour. Here is a sneak peek at a new painting, still...

Charlene Marsh Oil Paintings: March 2015
http://charlenemarsh.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 18, 2015. I had the rare and exciting experience of spotting a wild cougar in Yellowwood Forest, Brown County, Indiana yesterday, March 17, St. Patrick's Day, around 7 pm in the evening while taking my daily walk in the woods. I could tell whatever it was, it was large, buff colored, with a round head, round ears, sleek fur, muscular, and with a long, slender, "rope like" tail. The tail was the dead give away. No way could it be a coyote. Eureka! Also known as a Mountain Lion! Seeing a M...

Tuesday, May 6, 2014. I thought it was in the low eighties. I remembered to take my camera this time and got a few shots at the show. Check out this lovely little ballerina:. Wildflowers that welcomed us to the entrance of the park:. Here is the booth with the show tee shirts and lovely flowers and a glass sculpture out front. The show gave all the exhibitors a voucher for a free tee shirt! Not many shows do that anymore. What a perfect spot to showcase one's art! May 7, 2014 at 7:51 PM. I really enjoyed...

Sunday, November 23, 2014. Thanksgiving and the miracle in losses. Sometimes miracles happen when you least expect it. Sometimes they happen and you don't even know it.until later. Meegy in his last hours. I wrote this in my e-newsletter dated October 7, 2014(Scroll down for updates):. Meegy and Missy in 2010. At first I did not understand and kept asking, "Yeah, but who told you he had died? Thinking that is why she dropped off the pictures. A week or so later, I got a note back in the mail from her tel...

Charlene Marsh Oil Paintings: September 2013
http://charlenemarsh.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 23, 2013. This morning I woke up to deer in the yard eating my flowers. But I love watching them and cannot chase them off. Two bucks and two does. From the points on their antlers, the boys appeared to be three and four years old. This guy seems to know I am "shooting" him. The exhibit was beautifully hung. They always do a great job there. Blizzard Snow in Yellowwood Forest", oil, 18" x 24", (c) Charlene Marsh. Minnetrista Center, Muncie, Indiana. On my way back, retracing the trail, ...

Charlene Marsh Oil Paintings: December 2013
http://charlenemarsh.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 15, 2013. The weather reports did not look good at all! A wintry mix of ice, snow, rain, and fog was predicted for Saturday, December 14, 2014, the day of my Christmas Open House. Nevertheless, I prepared as if the day would be sunny and seventy. A couple small, golden Christmas trees are strategically placed and a small table top tree is the centerpiece on the food table. A string of tiny lights wind around the bowls and platters of yummy, organic, "living foods". I also made a cranberr...
