My Journey of 1000 Miles. A blog to chronicle my challenge, every step of the way. Newer posts →. This week’s update. May 23, 2015. I don’t always get the chance to sit at the computer on the day I do some activity. On Wednesday I took the dog a walk down to the beach and back, 4.9 miles in total. That evening as I was hefting my laptop on to my bed my back went twang! And a new percentage! 12 down, 88 to go. Getting the hang of it. May 18, 2015. Yesterday saw a slow amble to the beach and back – 4...

My Journey of 1000 Miles. A blog to chronicle my challenge, every step of the way. Still breathing →. July 13, 2015. You may have noticed the absence of posts for a while – apart from the Snowdon one. Well, I started having pains in my hips which turned out to be sore ITB’s. I got them treated and decided to take it easy before my trek up Wales’ highest hill. Believe me, I was amazed that I didn’t ache anywhere the next day, and no blisters either. My Journey of 1000 Miles. A blog to chronicle my challenge, every step of the way. Rude awakening →. July 13, 2015. It was nice and sunny at the bottom but the top had a cloud hat on. No worries, we thought, we’ve got our waterproofs. We also had food, sweets and copious amounts of water, plus appropriate footwear and clothing. The path meanders up with the odd steep bit. Up until halfway we were more in danger of overheating (with effort) than of drowning in rain – that came later! Just as we were setti...

Saturday, 25 February, 2017. 19 November 2016 – 15.4 miles. We stayed at a very nice B&B in the centre of the Llyn Peninsula. The coastline became more rugged, with cliffs...

Leaving The Couch Behind. A blog about trying to get fit and lose weight after twenty years of being a couch potato. End of the year. Sorry folks, I tend to get bored of blogging. Especially when injuries bite and rest and rehab are the only options, or life happens at whirlwind pace. I’d like to wish you all a Happy New Year. I can’t promise to be updating this blog very regularly in 2015, if at all. However, I’m just setting up a new one. This entry was posted in Injury. December 31, 2014. Create a fre...

When I left the office yesterday, I was in a funk. Things didn’t go as well as I would have liked. This afternoon, I wrote a letter to the health coach, explaining what had happened. I decided to share a modified version of that letter here. I need to figure out how to NOT punish myself or give in to the cravings w...

Obviously, the blog suffered. What to do, then? Up Next (Eventually): The Missing Post; Beer Reports; RB-2 Reality Check. The final ten weeks: Two states, two bikes, 1000 miles.
